Beach Day and Activities

hialodge

If you are ready for a day at the beach or looking to try new water activities, this blog will be helpful for you!  Eagle River and the surrounding area has excellent beach spots and lakes to enjoy your favorite recreational activities you look forward to during you stay in the Northwoods.  Whether you just want a quick beach getaway or an all-day event, there are many options for you to choose from that are perfect for your day in the sun!

View of Eagle Lake!

A couple of our favorite beach locations to visit include Hunter Lake and Eagle Lake Park.  Hunter Lake is perfect for swimming and playing on the swings, but can be quite difficult for even the most experienced boaters to get their boat in the water due to the gradual drop off and sandy bottom; however, this is a perfect place to enjoy a whole day on the lake! You can grill out for lunch and later in the evening enjoy a bon fire to roast hot dogs and create yummy s’mores, all while enjoying the beauty of the Northwoods that surrounds you!  Eagle Lake Park is a great place to take the whole family for a beach day and water sports!  There is an excellent paved boat landing right next to the park, for guests to put boats or jet skis in to enjoy the water!  If you would like to rent equipment or boats to get on the water to go fishing or tear up the waves with a Sea-Doo, look no further than Trackside!  Located one and half miles south of Hiawatha, right on Hwy 45 they offer 3 person Sea-Doo’s, 15 foot and 16 foot fishing boats, and 20 foot pontoon boats!  Trackside offers daily, 5 days or weekly rental rates allowing guests to enjoy their rental for a day or your whole stay with us!

Another excellent spot is Torch Lake located off of Hwy 45 between Eagle River and Conover.  The crystal clear water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or even looking for fish and turtles while on a paddle board or kayak.

Silver Lake is also a great stop for a beach day or day on the water! There is a pier to fish off of and a beach area for hours of play in the sand or water.  If the kids need a break from the water there is also a great playground area for them to enjoy!  This lake is also great for recreational activities and many times you will see kayaks, canoes or paddle boarders out enjoying the Northwoods scenery! If you are looking to rent a canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard we recommend that you go and check our Wildwood Outdoor Adventures.  They offer a wide variety of recreational water rentals from boating equipment to anything without a motor.  Wildwood Outdoor adventures also has life vests for sale if you forgot yours at home.  Interested in taking stand up paddleboard lessons or kayak lessons?  They are very accommodating and will take you or a group out any day of the week! Also new to the area is Paddle Board Yoga class sessions are offered at Cedaroma Lodge with Nagomi Yoga on Thursdays at 6pm or Saturday Morning at 10am.  If you have any questions please contact them at 715-479-1040.
